it’s kind of early to be completely judging cronus isn’t it? i mean yeah all his interactions have been just him being a dick but i don’t think he’s had enough screentime yet to confirm that he’s some sort of sociopathic monster with no feelings
First, a slight correction: I think he does have feelings. They are not normal feelings, but he has them. I’m also confident in my belief that he is incapable of grasping that other people have them, too.
As to the rest, I am more than happy to show my work:
CHARACTERISTICS OF A SOCIOPATH
• Glibness and Superficial Charm
Trying to ingratiate himself constantly, when one angle doesn’t work he immediately switches to a new angle. It doesn’t matter to him that it’s all bullshit, he pulls out all the stops. Meenah indicates this is normal behavior from him.
• Manipulative and Conning
Sculpts his image on-the-fly to appear more appealing; imitates what he thinks they will find attractive, uses fish puns with Meenah to curry favor, and then points it out so she will notice.
He has, of course, no idea what other people want from a partner (“it gets vwery frustrating after the first fewv epochs trying to make heads or tails vwhat people are evwen LOOKING for. i mean, in ANY quadrant.”) because he has little or no empathy.
He does not appear to be aware that emotional intimacy is a thing, other than to project an image of a sensitive, nurturing person that is quickly proven to be completely false in the most cynical sense imaginable.
They never recognize the rights of others and see their self-serving behaviors as permissible.

They appear to be charming, yet are covertly hostile and domineering, seeing their victim as merely an instrument to be used. They may dominate and humiliate their victims.A few minutes after giving Mituna an unwanted massage and refusing to stop, he is verbally abusing him to blow off steam after failing to make time with Meenah. He was picking up steam with every “I’m sorry.” He was enjoying taking off the mask because Mituna would never be able to tattle on him. Can’t fuck them? Use them for your emotional toilet.
Use, dominate, humiliate. No guilt, no shame. Smug.
• Grandiose Sense of Self
Feels entitled to certain things as “their right.”
CRONUS: nowv, please don’t tell anyone i said so, but you and i both knowv pretty much all these people should feel honored to go out vwith a guy like me.
CRONUS: ah. i see howv it is. cronus gets the shaft, vwhile you scurry avway to flirt vwith some infantile loudmouth. vwhy am i not surprised?
CRONUS: guess im neither mentally unstable or a big enough asshole to catch your eye.
He is angry and lashes out (secretly, at ‘safe’ targets, so as not to mess up his newly honed image as a sensitive and nurturing person) when he is not given what he feels he has earned. He considers the people who have failed to go out with him to be broken and worthless, and rationalizes it as their failure to see how great he is, and try to fix that failure while failing to address the person at all. Everyone is a mirror for him. Hell, let’s go full-literal: he even uses Mituna’s protective helmet visor to check out his hair while explaining how Mituna is a disgrace. This shit is textbook.
• Lack of Remorse, Shame or Guilt
A deep seated rage, which is split off and repressed, is at their core. Does not see others around them as people, but only as targets and opportunities. Instead of friends, they have victims and accomplices who end up as victims. The end always justifies the means and they let nothing stand in their way.Self-explanatory.
• Shallow Emotions
When they show what seems to be warmth, joy, love and compassion it is more feigned than experienced and serves an ulterior motive. Outraged by insignificant matters, yet remaining unmoved and cold by what would upset a normal person. Since they are not genuine, neither are their promises.Every word out of his mouth re: feelings, in other words. He should be sad and ashamed when people “ugh” at him; scuzzy or not, getting rejected fucking hurts. That’s normal. That’s healthy. Eridan was genuinely sad when he was rejected. Cronus just thinks “Why didn’t that work? I rehearsed it for ages” (or says it outright, who cares if the other person hears it) and keeps pounding away.
He sees interpersonal relationships as a game he can win on points, sort of like how both Eridan and Vriska did, but both of them experienced remorse and had vague stabbings at contrition. Also, they were 13. He is several bazillion years older than his death age of around 19.
• Callousness/Lack of Empathy
Unable to empathize with the pain of their victims, having only contempt for others’ feelings of distress and readily taking advantage of them.The entire scene with Mituna.
Oblivious or indifferent to the devastation they cause. Does not accept blame themselves, but blames others, even for acts they obviously committed.
“So what if I stood there gleefully humiliating a person who is basically powerless to stop me until you happened to intervene? You were the Condesce in another life, therefore you have no room to criticize because that would make you a hypocrite.” Shift dat blame, splashhole.
In summary: This is taken from only one scene, yes, but Hussie planned this game knowing he has limited time to devote to any specific pre-scratch Ancestor.
This is the Cronus that Hussie wanted to show us.
TL;DR VERSION: If I buy a cheeseburger and it comes to me with a dead rat sticking out of the bun, I don’t need to eat the whole thing just to make sure it’s gross.
